I had a conversation with a teacher this weekend, and it was his view that it is not a school’s responsibility to get students ‘work ready’ – just to enable them to pass examinations.

I am not sure I agree, particularly as employers I have met have told me that the majority of students they meet are certainly not work ready; and on the whole do not do themselves justice at interviews.

If it’s not a school’s responsibility, whose is it?
