Well done to Nigel Senior for correctly identifying the building subject to our last Friday Quiz as Shire Hall Stafford. Nigel, you have been ‘Named & Famed’

Onto this week’s Friday Quiz -’As you will note from link we are currenly carrying out a feasibility study into  a new £3.5m Marina Complex in Porthcawl, South Wales, and have noted this wonderful building.  What is its name and what is its history?

  1. The Grand Pavilion , Porthcrawl
    Built in 1932, The Grand Pavilion, was originally intended as a Palm Court but is now used as a multifunctional venue, including function room for weddings & conferences, dance hall and theatre.

    This is the Grand Pavillion in Porthcawl which was opened in 1932 and is well known for its dome. It is used as a venue for various performances such as Christmas pantomimes and live theatre shows.

    Pictured above is the Grand Pavilion in Porthcawl. This is used for Pantomimes theatre productions and concerts and various other shows. I have personally performed in the Grand establishment and I have also attended many pantomimes and Christmas concerts there.

    The Grand Pavilion was built in 1932 and has been an iconic feature of the Porthcawl sea front for over 70 years.
