rsz_1dscf2968Wider Impact has been thanked and praised for the delivery of our independent evaluation of the Big Lottery funded Lancashire based Ynot Aspire Project  www.ynotaspire.org.uk

Wider Impact Director and report author Edwin Lewis (pictured centre with Ynot Aspire Chair PC Rob Flanagan) says, ‘It has proved extremely rewarding to evaluate such an innovative and exciting Project, which has delivered what local young people both need and value. Impressive findings of note include:

o   The Project has enabled positive impacts on the lives and well-being of scores of young people, and in relation to crime and anti-social behaviour, has as a result, no doubt also improved the lives and general wellbeing of wider community members

o   Against a target of 5% to reduce the number of people who fail to move into education, training or employment, the Project has achieved an impressive 48% success rate

o   Against a target of 10% to reduce reported youth related anti-social behaviour, the Project has achieved an impressive 30% success rate

o   Against a target of 10% to reduce the number of young people entering the criminal justice system, the Project has achieved an impressive 74% success rate

o   In terms of SROI, there are positive indications that such is extremely impressive, and is likely to   run into many thousands of pounds, far exceeding current financial inputs. For example, potential saving to the public purse as a result of the Project are estimated to range from £328,000 in relation to young people prevented from entering the criminal justice system to over £10m in relation to the life time potentially negative costs savings of those [458] young people, who as a result of the Project have now seen their life chances drastically improve as they are steered away from being involved in anti-social behaviour

Project Manager Sharon Burch (pictured) says,

It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Edwin.  He made the whole process very easy and captured the  essence of the project, our staff, volunteers, stakeholders and beneficiaries.  I am particularly thankful of the hard work put in initially to very tight timescales in order to get the interim findings to us to inform our continuation funding bid for The Big Lottery.  I am sure that it played a big part in making the bid a success and we are looking forward to our continued collaboration through the life of the new project.

Edwin is extremely professional and dynamic and brings a ‘can do’ attitude to the evaluation process that gets the best out of everyone involved.  His report is honest and reflective, allowing us to see where we have made the most impact and where we need to develop further in order to excel in the future.  I would not hesitate to recommend Wider Impact to anyone looking to commission similar work.’
