Funded by Skills for Care West Midlands and commissioned by the Staffordshire Social Care Workforce Partnership (SSCWP) and the Black Country Partnership for Care (BCPC), Wider Impact has carried out independent scoping research into the West Midlands Care Ambassadors Scheme.

The commission has involved:

• Researching / scoping current Care Ambassador activities in all sub-regions
• Compiling information related to current recruitment initiatives; and
• Initiatives linked to Care Ambassador development
• Compiling a ‘lessons learnt’ log
• Making recommendations for implementation of an enhanced Care Ambassador scheme, which would be sustainable and financially self-supporting and meet the three key aims of the scheme
